If you look really close their onesies say "American Made with Polish Parts", courtesy of my girlfriend Holly from IU! Gotta love the "Polish Princess"!
Chris is getting a lot of time on the guitar lately. He gets home at 6 just in time to feed the girls their dinner. Immediately after the feeding they are starting to get pretty tired and are fussy. Since we don't want them to go to bed too early we try to keep them occupied. What better way than with a little music! It works like a charm! They love it and it usually buys us about 45 mins! Thank God for Chris's talent, I said maybe I need to learn to play to get me through some days. Awe, what the heck if I get desperate I will just strum a little to get by!
We have been working with a little bit of solid food, just the puffs that get real soft as soon as I put them in their mouth. They are hilarious because even though they have had them over and over, every time I put one in their mouth they make a face like they have no idea what is going on. Then, they get it, and start munching away. Sydney is the most animated with this task, of course! I get such a kick out of it! They seem to be looking at the puffs more now when I put a few in front of them and are starting to reach for them and rake their fingers through the pile. I don't think it will be long before they get the hang of grabbing a few and feeding themselves. Yeah!
It is official, the girls got their first colds, bummer :( It all started Monday morning with me waking up with a sore throat. I could just tell it was going to be a doosie, so I wore a mask for the next few days trying my best to keep the germs off the girls. Plan failed!!!!! Chris had flown out on Sunday night for business in Dallas. He started to feel the cold coming on mid day on Monday. Thank goodness my Mom had stayed over night because Chris was gone and then stayed longer than planned on Monday to help me out! I was so out of it, I napped as much as possible, I was worthless. Chris got back Monday night and felt terrible, and also wore a mask around the girls. I saw the first signs in Taylor on Monday, and by Tuesday Brooke and Taylor were with full on colds. Sydney didn't really seem too affected by it, she had a little bit of a runny nose but nothing like the rest of us, lucky gal! Chris unfortunately had to fly out again on Tuesday evening, this time to Cleveland. So, once again, my parents came over for the night and much of the day Wednesday. A huge thanks to you Mom and Dad! You totally saved me!!!!!
This is a great picture of Busia, my Mom with all three, we don't have a lot of these pictures.
We decided to try the exersaucers for the first time too. EXHILARATED is the only word I can think of that would appropriately describe the feeling Brooke and Taylor have when they are in their exersaucers! It is adorable they jump up and down and get the whole thing moving. Brooke is a little wild child and loves getting attention when she is in it, she smiles and laughs and jumps. Soooooo cute! Taylor does a lot of the same, but she seems a little more serious about the fact that she is totally surrounded by toys. She is very attentive to each one and then she will look up at me, or whomever, and break into a huge smile. So, I haven't mentioned Sydney's reaction and although I feel badly that she can not yet enjoy the exersaucer, it is per doctor's orders. When we had the girls at Children's, Hospital for their evaluations Dr. Bear said absolutely no exersaucers or jumpers for her for a little while. Sydney has tight Achilles tendons, especially in her right foot, so she tends to stand on her tip toes, which is something we want to discourage. I try to hold her up to the toys on the exersaucer so she too can enjoy them a little bit. She will get there!
Taylor loving her new toy!
We are also working on getting strong enough to sit up, they are all doing really well. Slowly they are able to sit leaning over propped up on their hands. It is so funny to see them in the sitting position. They have not just yet got the balance down so they topple over often, but they will get there. I always say timber and catch them and seem to think it is fun, hey, whatever it takes!
