Memorial Day Weekend - First Family Vacation - U p North I

The Happy Little Trio Up North

Despite the whole crew dealing with colds, we were determined to get up to St. Germain for our very first family get-away. Chris's parents have a beautiful home up on Lost Lake. We decided to drive up Thursday night after the girls had their last bottle. There really is no other option because at no point during the day do they go five hours without eating or playing. It seemed like the best plan to give them their bottle and head right out so that they could sleep the entire way. Good plan, cuz it totally worked!!!!! There was a little crying both ways in the beginning, but overall it was great. We arrived around midnight and went to bed(after a long bout of fussiness from Taylor, the poor little girl could hardly breath she was so congested).

This is the view from the back deck, I loved sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee after the girls went down for their 9am nap!

It is gorgeous up there and oh so peaceful, I think I could get used to being up there, at least for the summer months. The house has plenty of room for everyone and all the baby "stuff" that comes with triplets! I have to send out a big THANK YOU to Rick and Mary for making everything so comfortable for us and the babies! They had all three pack n plays set up and ready to go for our arrival which made the transition to bed so smooth. A second exersaucer was ready to go as well as great toys for everyone!

Over the three days we were up North we did many fun things:
*Chris and his Dad got out to golf a few times
*Played a few rounds of mini golf (don't remember who won)
*I got my first golf lesson at the golf range
*Went to the Strawberry Festival/craft fair in Eagle River

Grandpa and Grandma at the Strawberry Festival

The Monster Stroller

*Took the boat out for evening rides around the lake
*Hung out by the lake with the babies
*Taylor and Mary went for a quick dip in the lake
*Watched Wrigs play in the lake
*Played some UNO (don't remember who won)
*Ate delicious meals and cake doughnuts
*Laughed a lot and enjoyed each others company!

There is something in the up North air...

Another two bite the dust...

Wrigs can barely stay awake after a good swim in the lake

Brooke with the controversial moose(the ladies are into "cute" things, guys just don't get it!)

We can't wait to get back up North again soon! What a great get-away!
