Can you tell who is who?????
All is going just wonderful around here! This is such a great age, and after many months of tough days and way back nights, we are so thankful for the health and happiness of our little sweeties! Weight update...Brooke is hovering around 15 lbs and Taylor and Sydney are just shy of 16 lbs at 15 lbs 10 oz.
These babies are soooooo happy, which thrills Chris and me! All day long they laugh and smile, then smile a little more and giggle, it is fabulous to hear! They get especially excited when Chris walks through the door after work, they go nuts. They turn on the smiles like crazy.
Now that we have the playroom all put together, I am so much more content. We pretty much spend all our time in there when we are home. The girls are free to roll, wiggle, whatever they please, all over the place! Brooke is pretty much sitting on her own, she doesn't get into the position by herself, but when put there she will sit for some time, especially if she has a toy in front of her. Brooke and Taylor are getting ready to crawl very soon, they are up on their knees, they just need to figure out how to get moving. Sydney is being awesome little Sydney, wiggling around, rolling when she really feels like it but mostly squealing and yelling and screeching. She loves to express just how happy she is, what a sweet happy soul, and of the three she is the only snuggle bunny. Brooke and Taylor don't want to miss a trick so they rarely snuggle into us, unless they are VERY VERY VERY tired.
We have been on the move lately too! On Monday I realized the girls had not had a solid morning nap for three days. Why? Well, because we were out and about, what a great feeling that is. Friday I took the girls to the mall with Donna, good friend/NICU nurse/soon-to-be next door neighbor! We went to Brookfield Square and with Donna's confidence, decided to feed them bottles and food at the mall. It worked out great, Brooke was sitting in the high chair like it was no big deal at all...
Thanks Donna for always urging me to get out of my comfort zone with the girls, it always turns out well and gives me the confidence to do more and more.
Saturday we went to IKEA, as mentioned in Chris's entry.
Sunday we took the girls to church! We have to find a parish to join and get these little ones baptized! Yes, we did it, we took all three to 9 AM mass. It went pretty well all things considered. There was quite a bit of fussing, but there was a lot of that throughout the church, since there is no crying room at St. Leonard's. Hopefully people are just used to it. The problem is that I was not bothered by the other kids talking and fussing, but for some reason our girls seemed sooooo much louder than the others. I am sure it is only because they are ours, but it still makes me a little nervous. Everyone was very nice and loved to see triplets.
I have been taking the girls to the gym with me, only about once a week, but at this point that is better than nothing for me. The ladies in the daycare there are great and seem to love having the triplets around! That release for me is so amazing!
We also hired a part time babysitter/nanny, Katie. She was referred to us by Donna and we are really excited for her to get to know the girls and help us out, especially during the challenging hours 4-6 PM. She is studying to be a nurse and wants to be in the NICU.
This is Ella, one of my best friend's little girl. She has the best faux hawk ever, so envious of her hair! We had a "playdate" on Monday in the new playroom, so much fun!
Today I took the girls to my parents house for the day. A great place to go to get out of the house and just hang out. I remembered to bring my camera, but forgot the battery was dead, oops. We had a great day hanging with Busia and Papa, it was pretty low key which we all loved.
