Monday mornings are gymnastics mornings. We go to an open gym where the girls jump on trampolines, walk in balance beams, slide down huge slides, practice somersaults, jump in foam pits, maneuver obstacle courses and pretty much run around and exhaust themselves. One morning Brooke actually started to fall asleep standing up while getting shoes and coats on. It has helped strengthen them so much and every time we go they are able to do something they couldn't the last time. I love it and they love it! It is also adorable to see how the girls watch the older girls do flips and all kinds of crazy things. They watch so intently and they are smiling the whole time. I know Vaughn will love it too soon when he is more mobile! Brooke has a really impressive standing jump, so much so one of the girls that works there commented on her. It makes me smile!
They really want hula hoops now!
Brooke with her "Brooke" look Sydney being cautious, as alwaysTaylor very proud of herselfSyd and T Cassandra is so amazing with the girls and encourages them to try so many new things they never knew they could do! We love Mondays at the gym with her.
Wednesdays are always Gramma and Grandpa's day. Grandma would bring a muffin for breakfast and of course, the girls always asked for a bite...which developed quickly into "muffin time". It happens when Vaughn goes down for his morning nap at 8:15 and the girls get so excited for this time to come. I am pretty sure Grandma loves it as much as the girls do!
Hmm, what is new with Vaughn? Let's go with everything! It is amazing how quickly things begin to happen at this age. I'll start by repeating what I always say in posts about Vaughn, he is a perfect baby. Rarely does he cry unless he hurts himself, which is starting to happen a little more now that he is rolling all over the place. He will get moving and bump his head on a toy or the wall or something, and I know once he starts pulling up and walking the bumps and bruises will get bigger. Ugh, the thought of it makes me sad, imagining him with little bruises on his head, knees, etc. It sounds a little weird to say that I actually got used to it with the girls and although I never liked when then got bumped or bruised it seemed rather constant with three at one time. Vaughn does has this little head dance he started doing, mostly when he is in his high chair. He moves his head side to side and it is hilarious.
Vaughn still has just four teeth, and has taken a great liking to Cherrios and baby puffs. He has become a pro at feeding himself and protests loudly when he runs out of snacks. The girls, especially Syd, hang around his high chair and casually help themselves to the puffs every now and them. Vaughn doesn't seem to mind, he tends to like any attention he gets from them. These days there is a lot of "no baby", or "baby you are too little" going on. The girls are going to have a rough time adjusting to their little brother going after "their" toys as he gets to crawling and gets faster. He has started to get up on all fours and rock a bit, we all know the next step!!! Today Sydney took a plastic plate he was playing with away and he screamed.
I don't think I have mentioned this to date, but Vaughn LOVES music! Mostly he seems to like to be sung to. If he is fussy or overtired or even just fidgety, if you sing or hum to him he stops immediately and calms. Sometimes he will even hum along with you. Let's see, he is also sitting in a sitting ring in the tub so he gets to kick around and play more.
He has really had his eye on Daddy lately. Whenever Chris is around his eyes follow him around and he has a huge smile. This kid is such a joy!
I love when Chris plays the guitar for the girls and it is evident they love it too. Nothing better than Daddy entertaining his girls on a Saturday morning while the baby naps!
The girls love to go with Chris into the office in the basement, it is full of fun things. A big desk chair, many guitars and a keyboard they get to mess around on!
