9 Months Old

Every month I say the same thing...I can not believe Vaughn is 9 months old! Time is flying and the number of things he is doing changes daily, he is really growing up fast. Tuesday March 20th marks the date that he crawled on all fours moving forward. He is eating tons of finger foods and is pretty much done with baby food. So far he loves peas, shredded chicken, cheese and of course the old stand by puffs and Cheerios. He is drinking out of a straw sippy cup and loves it. I don't think this little one is going to have any trouble transitioning away from bottles. He is into everything and is much more of an explorer than his sisters. I am not completely sure if it is because he has more freedom during the day, but I really think he is going to have the desire to get into everything he is not supposed to be in. He sadly has gotten the bumps and bruises that come with the new mobility, it's the little bumps that get him, not the ones that I think look like they would be more reaction worthy. Ha. His official crawl date is March 20th (yes I am super behind on blogging:()


It's a little strange Chris and I think he seems a little less happy with his new sense of freedom. Chris remembers the girls being the same way, but I miss the little baby that always smiled and never cried. I have to believe it is a little overwhelming for him to be exploring this huge world and probably a little frustrating constantly being redirected and bossed around by his sisters. He still manages to smile the majority of the time, and yes everything goes in the mouth...

The doc says he has the perfect proportions and that he probably has the Ivy League in his future(based on his head/brain size), LOL. Maybe he will follow in Auntie Beth's footsteps, the Yale part!!!

Puddles

Why wouldn't we? It rained a ton, it was warm out, the puddles were huge and I was bored.


This was a super fun afternoon. The girls giggled and got 100% soaked. When Busia showed up the girls ran to the van and started telling her everything about the puddles and the other thing we did that day. It was one of the cutest things ever, they were all talking at once over each other and Busia was in heaven. I should have clicked on the video camera, but I was enjoying the moment so much too. I love when they get excited talking about what they do, it's like they can't get their words out fast enough.

It took about five days for their boots to dry, we have since invested in rubber rain boots! The right tool for the job.

Shootin' Hoops

This video cracks me up, the girls were having such a blast. We are pretty impressed with Syd's short range jumper. I often have visions of the six of us playing three on three in the driveway, ah what a beautiful thing.

Playing Dress Up

I knew it was coming and I was prepared. The girls have it...it's the dress up bug! It sort of comes and goes, but when they are into it they want the shoes, dresses, hats, glasses, earrings, bracelets, beads, you name the accessory and they want it. They received adorable dress up outfits for Christmas, I mean, what 2 year old girl wouldn't want a Minnie Mouse outfit? And, princesses, don't even get me started! It is actually adorable the way they talk to each other when they are all decked out. One morning they were all dressed up in their princess dresses and heals and were clicking around on the tile floor in the basement bathroom chatting with Cassandra about summer. They were talking about all the fun things they were going to do this summer. I can't even explain how adorable it was, and have I mentioned how wonderful Cassandra is with the kiddos? She engages them in the cutest conversations! She also started blowing huge bubbles for the girls with her gum and they were in awe! So cute to see them experience new things together!
