We Run a Tight Ship

Pretty much most things are very scheduled around here, they sort of have to be to keep us sane. When it comes to clean up and organization I am a little OCD. The picture below captures this. It really is all about reducing the amount work, so here is the story. Most baby stuff is only safe to wash in the dishwasher on the top rack, thankfully it is safe in the dishwasher to begin with, but one top rack in not a lot of space for the stuff of three toddlers. I cringe at the thought of running the dishwasher more than once a day, running it everyday was difficult enough for me to swallow. Anyway, there is pretty much one way that everything fits in and gets clean. I actually hand wash a few things after breakfast so that the remainder of the day everything can be loaded right up. This is what it looks like:
You are probably wondering why I actually took a picture of the loaded dishwasher, and as usually I have a perfectly rational answer :) With our son a few short days from coming into the world and me being in the hospital, I wanted to make sure whomever is at home with the girls has the least amount of extra work as possible. Caring for three crazy toddlers is no small task and hand washing kids' cups and plates is not something that needs to be of concern. It is a very tight squeeze with little room for error, but it works and that is really all that matters. And, there you have it, the story of my dishwasher loading technique!
