Last week marked the first full week back to work for Chris. I have to admit I was a little scared going into the week knowing that for five days I would be doing all the caring for and feeding of the girls throughout the day. As it turned out Monday and Friday were the only days I was alone! Tuesday my parents came for the majority of the day. I was able to get out and run some essential errands and know that the girls would be fed properly and put down to nap. Wednesday Mary came over and went to the Ped appointment with us and then Rick came over and made dinner for us. Chris is playing on a Wed. night basketball league which he didn't initially plan on joining, but since things are under control and his Mom agreed to spend that evening with me and the girls it worked out great. I am glad that he is able to do this because I know he gets a great deal of enjoyment out of it. Thursday Donna came for bath time and spent most of the day helping, we always have a great time and a lot of laughs. Can't wait for her and her family to be our next door neighbors!
We also decided on a plan for the girls when it comes to sleeping, eating and napping. We are using the book The Baby Sleep Solution as our manual. Basically the ultimate goal is to get the girls sleeping 12 hour nights. The thing I like about how this book is written is she gives specific examples of situations that may arise and she then offers solutions. We read the book together and totally agree with her philosophy. It is exciting to know we have a specific plan and process to get to our goal. So far we have managed to not create too many bad habits so getting started is going to be that much easier. We are currently working on getting the girls on a four hour eating schedule during the day. We still have a middle of the night feeding which will eventually be phased out, but we have to wait until the girls are eating at least 24oz of milk each day. We are not quite there consistently just yet. Taylor and Sydney have had days where they have consumed 24oz but Brooke, being the smallest still has not, but is getting closer each day! Stay tuned for our progress!
